1. What is UFO Gamers?
UFO Gamers is an online community that offers, for free, video game news and reviews, as well as other really cool stuff, like a weekly podcast, competitions, quizzes and other ways to interact, like Twitter and the forum.
2. Okay, but what does UFO stand for?
UFO stands for unidentified flying object. Duh.
3. Unidentified flying objects Gamers is a bit of a strange name, isn't it?
Perhaps, but it's not really called that, it's called UFO Gamers.
4. When did UFO Gamers start?
UFO Gamers didn't start out as a news and reviews website. In 2005, LorD created UFO as a gaming community that all played the same game (Star Wars: Jedi Knight Jedi Academy) together. When the game's popularity fell, the community didn't want to break up and so UFO turned into what you see today.
5. Must I get involved?
Not if you don't want to. We are a community, but we are also a great site to use to keep up-to-date with the daily goings on in the gaming industry.
6. Do I have to register?
Again, only if you want to. If you want to post on the forum and become part of the community, then it's a good idea to register and just say hi. We don't bite.
7. Does it cost anything to use the site or register?
No, of course not. We provide the site and its contents for free and always will!
8. I've got something I think you should report about on the site or the UFO Gamers Show, what should I do?
There are plenty of ways to get in touch. You can email anyone in the UFOian staff box on the left of the site, you can click on the show questions button on the right, or you can post on the forum .
Also, if you're not near your computer, but have your mobile phone on you, then give us a call and leave us a message, we'll address it on a podcast!

9. Why won't that 'join UFO Gamers' thing go away?
Because we want you to join, silly!
10. How can I find the review for a game I'm interested in?
Hit the reviews button (either of them) and they're arranged in the order they're written in. If you cant find your game, try changing the order to alphabetical and looking. If it's not there, we haven't written one - tell someone you want a review!
11. What's a podcast? And what's this about the UFO Gamers Show?
A podcast is like a radio show that you download as an mp3 sound file and listen to at your leisure, generally on your mp3 player. It's [Apple i]POD + [broad]CAST, you see. The UFO Gamers Show is a podcast that includes a round-up of the week's news, some chat about games we're playing and a few quirky features, such as games of what have I got in my hand, quizzes and stuff. Podcasts are free, as well.
12. How can I search for something?
There are two ways to look around the site. One is to click on helpdesk > sitemap and look for what you're after there. Also, there's a search box just below the log-in/register/logout box. Put your search phrase in there and hit enter.
13. What are mythical games?
Mythical games are games that don't exist that we've made up and thought they'd be quite funny. If you've got an idea for a mythical game, check out the forum post on the subject .
14. I have a technical problem with the site, what do I do?
Click on helpdesk and fill in the form. You will be seen to individually, so to speak.
15. What does the 'boss' button do?
If you're looking at the UFO Gamers site at work and your boss approaches, you can hit that button and be looking at something innocent on Wikipedia. Clever, eh?
16. What is 'ask LorD'?
Ask LorD is a feature of the website that allows you to ask the editor of the site, LorD, absolutely any question. He'll either answer your question, no matter what it is, either by writing an article about it, or by talking about it on the show. LorD is known to be correct 98.2% of the time, so there you go. This feature is no longer in use, but you can contact LorD to ask him anything via his email address.
17. Why doesn't my profile image show up in the who's online in the forum box?
It's because, since the changeover of sites, we now have two profile systems running side-by-side: the site profile and the forum profile. If you update your picture by hitting 'profile' and then 'update your image', then the only thing it will affect is if people look at your main site profile. If you want your picture to appear in the log in module, the who's online on the forum module and on forum posts, then go to 'user control panel' on the top left hand corner in the forum and sort out the avatar settings in there. Simple!
