Well, it's September 28, which means that four years ago today, UFO came into being as an online gaming clan revolving around Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I hosted the server, came up with the rules, the ideology of UFO (that we emphasise of having fun rather than being the best) and put together various incarnations of the UFO website.

It was a real blast but as time went on, Jedi Academy fell out of favour with PC gamers and so there are few people playing any more. We tried to move onto Half-Life² Deathmatch, but with no real success since HL² didn't really have the mod-ability or social aspects that JA did. And then there was Guild Wars, which didn't really work out either. So I decided to make UFO into a games news/reviews/views site and that's what it is today, albeit one without many articles since nobody's writing... But I will address this from tomorrow. I've had a lot of music work on, but I'm done with that for now, so onward with UFO!
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who's spent their time and effort on UFO. I certainly couldn't do it on my own and whether you were an admin in the clan days or a writer right now, you've left your mark on UFO and I really hope you continue to do so. We're still a very small site and we need more readers, more members and more writers to put ourselves on the map as an increible irreverent and peculiar community.
Tonight, to celebrate our venerable age, it would be great if some old UFOians could join me on the Jedi Academy UFO server I've set up, just for a trip down memory lane.
Hope to see you there.
