Dear reader welcome to what I am calling the Sonic Generations "bumper pack o' news" as there is a lot to cover in this one article. The game has created quite the anticipation here at UFO Gamers, well maybe mainly for myself and Xander, and over the last several days new information about Sonic Generations has emerged.
First off a new collector's edition has been announced which includes the following:
A collectible figurine featuring both classic and modern Sonic, an exclusive and individually-numbered commemorative 'Gold Ring' and a '20 Years of Sonic' art book which contains previously unseen sketches from the past 20 years. Sega have also confirmed the edition will have a "'20th Anniversary Sonic Soundtrack' featuring a selection of tracks handpicked by Sonic Team from the 'History of Sonic: Birth of an Icon' documentary, an exclusive collection of interviews and footage charting Sonic's life from inception through to becoming one of the most iconic characters in videogames' history." Now, that all makes for one very impressive collector's edition which is actually worthy of being called a collector's edition! So, there couldn't possibly be any more could there?
...well to wrap it all up in a nice neat bow Sega will also release 'bonus additional downloadable content for the game', however details of this are currently unknown. Meanwhile, the price is being kept secret for now but we do know that it all comes in a very nice luxurious box. Yowzer indeed.

To keep the Sonic anniversary celebrations rolling, Sega also recently released another trailer for the game entitled 'Genesis Era'. The reason for the name is that 'Genesis' is the American-ism for the Sega Mega Drive as the game will feature many levels from three different Sonic eras: the Mega Drive/Genesis era (classic), Dreamcast and Next Gen eras (modern).
If you notice at the end of the trailer Metal Sonic appears as it has been confirmed he will be one of the main protagonists in the game. Non-playable characters confirmed to appear who will be either 'classic-ised', 'modernised' or both are; Miles 'Tails' Prower (classic/modern), Kunckles (modern), Amy Rose (modern), Dr. Robotnik/Eggman (modern) and Shadow (modern). Rumoured characters are ones such as: Espio the chameleon, Charmy Bee, Vector the crocodile, Rogue the bat, Blaze, Cream and Perfect Choas.
Sega have confirmed Sonic Generations will be released in US on 1 Novemeber 2011 and three days later (4 November 2011 if you want it spelt out cearly) in the United Kingdom.
