According to the latest issue of Xbox World, due out 25 October 2011, BioWare confirm they will announce a “killer new feature” for Mass Effect 3.

This has led many to speculate that the developers will finally confirm the ongoing rumours of a multiplayer feature, or some form of online mode. These rumours were originally based on BioWare advertising a vacancy for a 'multiplayer programmer (
Mass Effect franchise)'. Support for the claim does exsist as once enough media outlets got wind of this, industry 'sources' and other reports suggested the new game will have a mulitplayer, which is very similar to
Horde in the
Gears of War franchise, as well as more traditional multiplayer types such as: deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag.
It must be noted BioWare have in fact denied all speculation and forum buzz in stating "
Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game." It really is one of those stories which at the minute is purely gossip but it has nonetheless got the internet talking and until the next issue hit the shelves, that is about as much as we can do.
Mass Effect 3 will be released on 6 March 2012.
