Xbox 720 is set to be released in the holiday period of 2012!!!...if you are to believe alledged reports which have certainly created a mass frenzy on the internet.
The speculation stems from the latest installment of
Windows Weekly wherein Paul Thurrott claims the new Xbox console, codenamed
Project Ten or
Loop depending on which website you visit therefore already highlighting the fact that many reports are indeed based on the grindings coming from the rumour mill, will see Microsoft "going the Apple route". Thurrott doesn't mean the actual console design will resemble that of a delicious fruit but more along the line that Microsoft are aiming for the new system to "integrate very tightly with Windows 8 and Windows Phone, which is a problem with the current Xbox". He also added the next Xbox will feature "embedded Microsoft Silverlight"
Although this is all rumour and hearsay Thurrott's statements do, to a certain extent, allude to previous claims that the next Xbox will apparantly run a version of Windows as well as feature a HD hardware platform similar a Zune. Whether this information remains to be true or not it does atleast make for an interest topic of debate. However I do urge that for now you take this story with a pinch of salt and await more facts to filter through the coming months.
