In a recent interview with the Games blog Reggie Fils-Aime, COO and president of Nintendo America, discussed his thoughts on what it will require for the forthcoming launch of the Wii-U to be a success.

He believes the console will have to deliver a new, different experience that can only be done through the proper use of the Wii-U's dual screens: "If all we do is a beautiful game in HD, it's been done before. We have to take advantage of the second screen, we need to take advantage of the connectivity that the system will offer." He added, "we believe that we will yet again disrupt the market the same way we did with DS and Wii." If im honest, to me the Wii-U is to the Wii what the 3DS was for the DS. An updated version of what we already have, just touched up and made to look nicer. I say that because Fils-Aime makes the Wii-U sound virtually similar to the DS except it'll have better graphics and gamers wont be able to take it on a bus or train. Then again they aren't as bad as Apple who 'create new products' every few months but are really exactly the same as the previous model as with the iPod, iPhone and iPad. But then again that's just me talking and a topic for another article.
The full interview is available via the link provided below. It is an interesting read as Fils-Aime also talks in-depth about topics such as what the price cut of the 3DS actually means, Nintendo's plans for the 'holiday' season,
Mario Kart 7,
Skyward Sword and whether the latest Zelda game is actually the Wii's 'swan song'.
