Yes I know there are a lot of 'reports' and rumours circulating the inernet about the Xbox 720 and yes I know even we here at UFO Gamers have made more than the one article about the next Xbox console (or NextBox as I'm going to start calling it). So forgive me for possibly flogging a dead horse but new reports - sorry, rumours -strongly suggest Microsoft may be dipping into the tablet craze to base their new console around. Think the iPad, Samsung tablet or the Wii U...just don't tell Nintendo.

This fresh reports comes from the people at GameSpot who in a feature looking ahead to 2012 writes:  "Speculation as to the form it will take has been rife for the past few months, with some even suggesting that the core of the new platform will be akin to a tablet PC that wirelessly connects to a base station, which in turn plugs into your TV...If this is the case, a premium Xbox Next setup could feasibly include a base station, a tablet, a conventional controller of some kind, and the recently discussed high-def evolution of the Kinect."

If the NextBox design is indeed tablet based then it'll certainly negate LorD's official drawing of how it may look, which you can see here.
